This is a Republic RC-3 Seabee Amphibian (sn# 919). Manufactured in June of 1947 by Republic Aviation Corporation, Farmingdale, Long Island, New York, USA. The aicraft was then imported into Canada by Curtiss-Reid Flying Service, Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
In 1972-05-08 Mr. Joseph Leutschaft purchased the aircraft. In 2001-06-07 the Certificate of registration was cancelled.
Finally, in 2006, it was placed on display in front of a local bar/restaurant in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Apparently the plan was to combine parts from C-FFSG with another Seabee but the other aircraft was sold.
Photo was shot through the passenger window of my Jeep with a Canon 40D, and a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens.
Unseen in this photo is the damage she sustained from an apparent hard landing.
