Oil on water.
Our photo club had a meet up where I work (local airport) and I got permission to utilize the terminal one Saturday afternoon when the airport is closed.
The idea was for people to set something up to allow others to try their hand at that particular set up. One person set up a water drop shoot, another was to try and change your bokeh to form a shape on lights in the background.
The photo above was a clear glass container suspended by two jars, and a piece of fabric underneath. The container was filled with water and some drops of oil was introduced - what you see above is what you get. With this set up, you can change the fabric to anything you want to change the colours and pattern underneath to completely change the look of the background (is that underground??).
I didn't get many photos that day, but this was the best of the photos I took of the oil and water. I didn't have my tripod so it was tricky. I may have to do this again at home.
